Happy Birthday, Jesus
What a day! We were up until 4:30 a.m. assembling toys. And I thought this year was going to be easy~one of our toys was a lemon! I will have to contact the company tomorrow and find out how to make an exchange (it was one that I ordered on-line).
We left a note for our oldest to please *not* wake everyone up when he got up to take the dog out early this morning. The little ones woke up around 9:30~with only five hours sleep, my eyes were burning! After gifts, breakfast, and getting the turkey in the oven, my dh and I both went back to sleep.
We had an early dinner and we really enjoyed it. I really delight in cooking with my husband~there is something special about working in the kitchen together, listening to Christmas music, while the boys are playing, watching movies, and running in and out of the kitchen...I just love it.
Our oldest set the table, made a pitcher of juice, and poured all of our drinks. Along with our turkey, we had mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, green been casserole, sweet potato casserole, and rolls. I wanted to make a birthday cake, but was just too worn out this year! So, after we prayed, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. The little boys loved that! Lion continued singing throughout our meal, LOL.
Once again, I had more Christmas plans than I had energy and time for...in the next couple of weeks, I will be making pies, fudge, and chocolate covered cherries. I did make one batch of fudge and Sailor helped me make Christmas cookies for Santa.
I will be back later with a picture post!
Merry Christmas!

I've already started taking down trees, *lol* I'll leave one up until the 1st but that's it, I'm sick of them.
