  • Oh, I am going there!

Do you know who you are voting for?

I just read something that sparked my own inner, personal indecision.  There is no perfect candidate~kind of like, there is no perfect mate, LOL.  They all have their quirks...I need to find the candidate (well, the man, not woman--I know that much for myself) whose quirks I can live with.

Babies' lives are very important to me.  Marriage and family are very important to me.  Is there a candidate out there who will strive to protect both?  I ask because I honestly do not know--I know that Ron Paul is pro-life, but he is also pro-constitution, which means he will not protect marriage.  Out of all of the positives I see in Ron Paul, should this *quirk* sway me from voting for him?  (I must mention here that Ron Paul delivered me in 1971 and I grew up with his youngest daughter--I would love to see their family in the White House!).

John McCain...there is something about this man that I like and trust.  I like that he has friends in all parties~that totally caters to my "Can't we all just get along?!" neediness.  POW--wow.  I am so thankful to him and all of our soldiers.  He seems rational and reasonable.  I enjoy hearing him speak.  Quirks?  Well, again, the marriage thing.  There may be more, but that is what stands out to me at this time.

Truly, I have not been inspired to research the other candidates.  I admit that for some, I am completely close-minded and will not consider at all.  But this evening, I am ignoring all etiquette and talking politics~do you know who you are voting for?

  • Boy, you did go there didn't ya?? I usually avoid two subjects - Politics and religion because they are alway's hot button issues no matter how you look at it but since you brought it up.... LOL I really haven't decided yet but all I know for sure is that I will not vote for Hillary. I just do not care for her. I'm really not too crazy about any of the cadidates so I'll need more time and I'll need to do my homework to figure it out.

I think it's going to be tough to narrow it down for me. Mostly because there are issues at hand that some of the cadidates support and some of them don't and It makes it hard for me to side with all republican or all democrat etc. because I'm somewhere in the middle of the two. (confusing, I know, but it's true) We'll just have to see. I need more time.

  • I'm not sure yet.  I am really leaning towards Ron Paul though.  He is thoroughly pro-life all the way around and that is so important to me.  He is also very pro-parental rights and homeschooling which I also like about him.  As far as being a Constitionalist I think that can be really good.  I do know he has said many times that he only supports marriage between one man and one woman and I think all we can do is take him at his word on this.  He hasn't shown that we shouldn't. I think for me overall he is probably the best match, not perfect, but the best.  I got an interesting "letter" in the mail from his campain that he wrote in 2005 after Pope JPII died and he really praised the Pope in it; the mailing also contained a statement of faith as well as statements on his views on marriage, family, education, etc.

BTW, I think it is cool that you know him and that he delivered you.

  • :hammer:  Are you insane!  :ROTFL:

It's too early right now but I'll be back in a little while to add my 2 cents. :big-smile:

  • Definitely I'll vote for a pro-life candidate. That's my #1 election issue, I think if a candidate doesn't hold the sanctity of life to be important, that says something about him as a person and his character. Aside from that, I'm hoping that I could live with any candidate, as long as it's not her. I'm SO not a Hilary fan. It's not because she's a woman, I mean, I'm a woman after all, we're not that bad. lol It's just her.

  • So far it looks like Ron Paul for my husband and I.  I usually let him do the research and follow his lead.  Did you really grow up with his daughter?  I'll have to tell GordonBops.  His website usually has Ron Paul stuff on it too.  You should check it out.
