I'm a slacker...
...and a flake. I make plans and don't follow through. I have no motivation to pack this house and take things to storage. I make plans and lists, then walk into my living room and feel overwhelmed. I suddenly need a nap! LOL I need to find someone~my in-laws, or a pre-teen/teenage girl~to come and play with my little ones while I work! I have to wait on the in-laws, and of the homeschoolers I know, I cannot think of any who would let their daughter come here during the day (they are busy with school). I remember that a local church has a message board in their lobby where teenager girls offer baby-sitter services--I might drive over there and see what I find. Another thought is the local college--surely there are college students who would like to make a little extra money? This is one of the *negatives* of not having family nearby...

Well, you are home all day and raising a bunch of munchkins. Maybe you should think of your list as a "suggestion" for the day instead of something you have to do. Just tell yourself you will pack 1 box every 4 hours or something. Do the little things on your list first and then that way you can feel like you have accomplished something instead of feeling overwhelmed. You can do it!
What a great idea in the comment above, you can totally do a box every 4 hours and by the end of the day that's 4 or 5 boxes a day. I like that idea. You can do! Oh and this always helps Savannah
"Go Kathrine go, Go Kathrine go!!!" *lol*
When I have to pack. I always start with the toys, the kitchen stuff and then the clothes. (not in that order) I narrow the clothes down to just a small suitcase and we just wear those items. I find that when the closet and drawers are empty it makes thing seem like they are getting done. I keep out a few toys and then the rest is packed up either. Toys seem to get scattered around while we are packing. So, they make me feel like I am just picking up the same item over and over again. Which is very frustrating to someone that needs to see the little things packed to keep motivated to just do the next thing. With the kitchen I go down to the basics. (eat off paper plates, etc) I find once the cookbooks are packed at the unused daily items are packed then I feel like I am getting some where. By the time these places are packed there seems to be less stuff to pack or at least it seems like all is left is the big furniture items in most of the house. I think some times it is just visual when it comes to packing a house up. I hope this helps. We just got done moving so it is very fresh in my mind. You can do it!
You are all so encouraging--thank you so much! This is all great advice!
I should be encouraging too, instead I'll just say that I make plans for the day too, and sometimes it never happens. Some days, I think it's a miracle that we all had our 3 meals and were completely clothed (at least at one point) during the day. lololol
