Tess
Lamb took this picture of Tess at the little beach house in March. I have been taking Tess to the vet every week to be dipped for mites. She has some kind of inherited mite that, while not contagious to us, made a spot of hair fall out on her back. She will need 4-5 treatments; yesterday was her third treatment. At $30/dip, I am hoping the fourth treatment is the last! I could have dipped her at home for $20/dip, but after hearing about all of the hazards of the dip, it was worth it to me to pay more and take her to the vet once a week!

She is SOOOO cute!
It's me, signing in from California!
I agree about paying someone else to do the job. If our cats ever needed a haircut (both long haired), hire someone else to do it for me... I do not want to put up with painful stratches and bites ever again from this haircut job! Isn't Tess' mites is same as manges? If so, it is no fun at all in getting rid of it and for hair to come back to have normal-looking dog once again!
Ah!
So cute! Hope the mites are gone soon....
Ahh, she's so cute. I'd probably feel safer taking the dog to the vet for it too. Little dogs can't tolerate too much of those chemicals, so I'd trust a vet to get the dosage amounts accurate.
Tess is adorable, Kat! I hope everything gets cleared up soon~
:big-smile:
Tess is soooo cute!! Don't you just love these little dogs?
@mjh905 - I don't know if it's mange, but she did lose about a nickel-size of hair on her back! Most of it has come back, but we can still see a little of her skin...
@quilt_cats - I didn't think about the dosage amounts~I would hate to accidentally poison her! My sister and I once put Advantage on a kitten who was *supposed* to be old enough for it--she became lethargic and we had to quickly bathe it off of her.
@Janel64 - Yes--I love her! She is the first little dog I've had and I am enjoying her so much!! I have been clicker-training her and she is doing really well!
