  • Howdy!

I am going to write this post as quickly as I can, because my tricky little modem might turn off at any moment!  (Tech coming Monday to fix modem--I am hoping to be back on-line regularly soon!).

A favorite site of mine is The Nester--and I was inspired to make a stick/feather arrangement similar to hers for my front porch:

It was so easy--and my inspiration happened to occur the week that feathers were on sale, half price, at Hobby Lobby.  These feathers are fake, but the difference is not too obvious until you touch them, LOL!

    :)

Hope to be back early next week!

    Hugs,

    Kat

  • Very Fun!

I am going to go check out her site. Thanks.

  • How do you keep something like that around without it getting torn to bits by children?? I just have to know. A lot of our tearing up happens when I'm gone at work, but still. lol

  • @Camarige - You'll love her site!!

@bethro78 - LOL--lots of training--and, what's interesting is that my 14-year old breaks most of my stuff, not my little ones!  He didn't break my things when he was little--must be some clumsy-teen-stage, LOL!!

  • I liked her site. It gave me a few idea on decorating. Some of it I would never do though. I am not a hot glue gal. I have never been successful in that area.

What have you taken away from her site and did in your own home?

My Mom is coming next week to visit me and I have some house shopping to do. I am looking forward to her opinion in helping me. She probably would love her tassle ideas. :)   I like the way she uses mirrors. She is right it helps you not to commit to a color.

  • That is a neat arrangement but I really love that vase. So pretty.

Btw, today is my anniversary. I have been blogging on xanga (with my current blog) for a year now. Yay for me! And it's all because of you. lol I hope they get everything up and running for you again. I miss your posts. :(

  • the breaking things - ya its a teen boy thing - starts around 10! I am smack in the middle of it! 14, 12,10,& ( yr old do WAY more damage then the 22 month old ... poor kid ..he follows them picking up after them lol My house looks like it has had a battering ram in it... and a major food fight! I don't think there is a wall without some sort of splatter - from milk or juice being shot out a laughing nose!

So did you move yet? Are  you still moving? Whats going on? Haven't heard from you in forever!

  • That looks so pretty! Great job. I would love to try something like that but I'm always afraid of messing it up. :blushing: I also love to read The Nester. She knows how to make those arrangements look like a million bucks!
