  • Random Thoughts

    • I just realized that our crepe myrtles never bloomed last month!
    • Yardley has a new scent--Lemon Verbena--I bought a bar and am looking forward to trying it out (price compared to homemade soaps and other boutique soaps is pretty significant!)
    • Our 5-year old has fallen in love with the Boxcar Children book series.  I am reading two chapters each night.  He cannot wait to learn how to read.
    • I bought a lemon-blueberry scone mix from Gooseberry Patch, then lost the directions...the packets are not labeled...what to do?
    • I love buying school supplies right now--22 cents for 24 Crayola crayons, 10 cents for spirals, 15 cents for a pack of glue sticks, 10 cents for pocket folders...
    • We have to start printing and matting Lamb's photographs for the Fair soon...
    • I almost have Pilot weaned (the one right before bed is THE hardest to stop!).
    • My boys have managed to break two of my Duncan Phyfe dining table chairs...I have no idea if they can be repaired...
    • I am going through a serious Anne of Green Gables obsession--it's ALL that I want to watch, LOL!

  • Anne of Green Gables is the best! Mom grew up in Nova Scotia, and we made a trip to Prince Edward Island a couple of years ago - absolute heaven on earth!

  • The Boxcar Children is a fun set of books.  I can't resist stocking up on school supplies either, but our glue sticks aren't that cheap around here.

  • @CharisaS - How fun!  I would love to see it in person!

@quilt_cats - It was a pleasant surprise to find them so cheap--I was going to wait until after the public schools started to see if there was a huge school supply clearance (there still might be, LOL), but  had to buy them at that price just in case!  ;)

  • I haven't heard of the Boxcar series. :) it it geaerd to boys or girls. BTW I LOVE a new box of crayons. i alsways wanted to have the job of naming the crayons! LOL!

  • @purplelover40 - They can be for boys and girls both--the children are a family of four--two boys, two girls--who are adopted by their grandfather.  The series was written years ago (I'd have to check, but I think in the 30's) and I think someone even continued to write them after the original author passed away in the 70's.  I read them as a child, and think that it is so neat that my boys like them, LOL!
