6a00d83451cbb069e200e54fb7a7fa8834-800wi

My blood pressure has been up the past couple of days--I think it is from lack of sleep.  My three youngest have passed around a little virus--it started last Friday.  It started with our 6-yr old, then on Sunday I was in an after-hours clinic with our 3-yr old~101 degree fever~, praying that he did not have swine flu (he didn't!), and then by Tuesday, our 5-yr old was suffering.  They have all taken turns keeping me awake during the early hours of the morning, and I am exhausted.

Last evening, I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes, then locked myself in my bedroom to take a hot bath.  I realized that I haven't taken the time to take a bath in a while--it is truly relaxing!  I pulled out my lavender bath salts, poured a huge glass of red wine (good for BP, yes?!), lit a candle, and read a magazine until the water cooled.  Then I took an icy cold shower--amazing how it is breathtaking and fantastic at the same time, lol.  I felt tons better--I felt like I could finally take a deep breath.  (I don't know about y'all, but anxiety for me feels like I cannot catch my breath!).

It's bath season...

45 minutes on the treadmill- way to go!  And the bath was a good reward- there's something wonderfully relaxing about taking the time to do that (it's always rush, rush, rush around here- a nice leisurely bath sounds great)

I need a treadmill. Or a personal indoor walking track. ha.

I'm glad you were able to feel better. I love baths too! And of course the red wine is good for blood pressure! ;) all those antioxidants!

@quilt_cats - I should have walked an hour, lol!  I fell off my walking bandwagon--and it's so hard to get started again!  ;)

@bethro78 - If you're anything like me, with all of the little ones, it's actually easier to walk when you don't have to leave the house! ;)  A sweet friend gave me her treadmill--I was so happy.  I do take my boys on a trail here--it's really nice, paved (built by the city), but sometimes it's hard to gather everyone + water bottles, toys, double stroller, etc. and actually leave the house!

@sassykat1213 -

That's exactly right. Even if I gather everyone up and go, I can't walk fast enough or long enough to get a workout! Little feet don't go that fast, and they get bored!

@bethro78 - Lion (5) can outrun me on the track--it's crazy!  He keeps on going--where does he get the energy?!
